Have you tried swing dancing?
As a matter of fact, I was lucky enough to get an impromptu swing dancing lesson from a talented (and patient) teacher just last week. I learned a lot (including the fact that I need to improve my following skills), but I think I need another lesson!
That is the trick, you just have to give in and let the leader lead. Once you do that it is easy.
